Invitation to be associated

The Centre for Public Participation (CPP) based in Durban, Kwa Zulu Natal works in the field of democracy and local governance, focussing on strengthening civil society to participate in an informed way in the realisation of the right to fully participate as citizens in pursuit of a quality life

CPP is currently establishing a Panel of Associates and welcomes applications from those with experience in any of the following fields : conflict analysis, negotiation, multi-stakeholder dialogue, community development and democracy especially at local government level..

The following panels and the requisite criteria for consideration as an associate apply.

Trainers with the following criteria

• A relevant tertiary degree in social science, political science, social development, law or a basic degree with work experience related to the aforementioned subject  field
• At  least 5 years experience in training interventions for adults
• Familiarity with conflict and development theory and discourse
• Fluency  English and or  Zulu
• Ability to write good reports
• Ability to work in  teams
• Professional and  ethical in practice

Mediators and Dialogue Facilitators with experience in any of the following areas:

• Community, organisational, family or labour mediation
• Community organising, political mobilisation political dialogue
• Campaigning, lobby and advocacy
• An interest in sharing your experience in a self critical and reflexive manner

Researchers with the following:

• Focus in the areas of democracy, development and sustainable peace
• Experience in the case study approach
• Ability to write in different registers: academic, journalistic ,  training materials

• Your daily charge out  rates or fee

Associates will be expected to sign a Code of Conduct and will be contracted to deliver on CPP projects in local municipalities in Kwa Zulu Natal..
